The effect of herbicides (Harnes, Master, Stelar, Proponit) on the aspartataminotransferase [EC 2.6.1.1], alaninaminotransferase [EC 2.6.1.2] activities and total protein content had been determined in ripe maize (Zea mays L.) grains. It has been proven that herbicides cause authentic suppression of activity of key enzymes of transamination and accumulation of total protein.
