Cognitive event-related potentials in musicians and non-musicians during mono- and binaural tone submission

During binaural stimulation musicians unlike non-musicians did not demonstrate interhemispheric differences of N2, P3, N3 latencies, while during monaural stimulation interhemispheric differences of N2, P3, N3 latencies are absent in both groups. Left-side stimulation revealed N2 component to have shorter latency in both hemispheres of musicians unlike non-musicians. Right-side stimulation revealed N1-P2, P2-N2, P3-N3 amplitudes to be significantly higher in both hemispheres of musicians unlike left-side stimulation of ear in this group.
