Coordinated reaction of glutathione-dependent system of Acer species seeds to pollutants chronic action

The content of reduced glutathione (GSH) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST, EC, glutathione-peroxidase (GPX, EC and glutathione-reductase (GR, EC activity in Acer platanoides and Acer pseudoplatanus seeds from contaminated phytocenoses were determined. Species-specific and coordinated changes of GSH pool and glutathione-dependent enzymes activity confirm the participation of glutathione cycle in the implementation of different adaptation strategies of Acer species to pollutants chronic action.
